Postcard trail of the Nazis led to Eton
IT IS often said that the Battle of Waterloo was won on the playing fields of Eton and perhaps the same is at least partially true of the Second World War.
The Nazis knew it, too, which is why they planned to send their own children to that bastion of excellence if they won the war, as the highly revealing new cache of postcards has shown.
It would, at least, have taught the Nazis something about fair play…
