Dunce's cap for absent head
PARENTS who take children abroad during term time to cut the sky-high costs of holidays can expect a hefty fine on their return.
The same, it seems, cannot be said of the headteacher at an East Sussex school who enjoyed an eight-day holiday in the Canary Islands, courtesy of the European Union.
While pupils studied at Crowhurst Primary School, head Andrew Jervis took part in a pointless EU probe into how children from different countries play.
Leadership, Mr Jervis, is about setting an example, not promoting a "do as I say, not as I do", ethos.
