Abuses of the asylum system exposed by whistle-blowers
NOW we know for sure. Firms of solicitors are lodging ridiculous appeals against deportation on behalf of failed asylum seekers who have no grounds for staying in Britain.
Sir John Thomas, one of our leading judges, has joined the ranks of whistle?blowers by speaking out against the practice. He should be congratulated for doing so.
No doubt many of these cases are bankrolled by taxpayer-funded legal aid.

This is yet more evidence that asylum procedures need to be streamlined further and that multiple layers of appeals only cause unnecessary delay.
And as the old saying goes, justice delayed is justice denied.
