SLUGS will invade the gardens of Britain in record numbers now that spring has finally arrived, horticulturists have warned.
That may be true but so at long last will all kinds of colourful blooms.
Better a riot of colour to be relished and an army of slugs to be repelled than to be held any longer in the inhospitable grip of a winter that has long outstayed its welcome.
