PM's minister for women is a terrifying choice - she can't even define what a woman is!

The fact Anneliese Dodds has been made Women’s Minister terrifies the life out of me. And if you’re a woman it should terrify you too. Because this is someone who in the past has struggled to define what a woman actually is: “It depends on the context,” she’s said.

No it doesn’t. It depends on whether “she” has a vagina or a penis. She’s also said: “Being a woman can mean all kinds of things.”

No it can’t. It can mean only one thing. But it’s this woke, dangerous, muddle-headed thinker Sir Keir Starmer has put in charge of women’s rights. That said, I don’t know why I’m surprised. Let’s not forget Starmer is the bloke who once said: “It’s wrong to say only women have a cervix.”

This loopy appointment has sent shockwaves throughout the country because it’s made it crystal clear the Labour Party has no intention of protecting women’s rights. It’s hell-bent on protecting only the rights of trans people – which is a bit odd considering biological women account for 51 per cent of the population and trans (both women and men) account for just 0.5 per cent.

In the past Dodds has said: “Trans Rights are human rights.”

Yes, well women’s rights are human rights too, but it’s clear they’re going to be crushed under the hammer of this new woke government that’s forever banging on about “diversity and inclusion” while actively seeking to shame or shut down people who don’t agree with the trans ideology.

Dodds is insistent she’ll change the law and ensure tougher sentences on trans hate crime. So, might she like to explain what the definition of a trans crime actually is. Or is it really as simple as people disagreeing with the ideology?

Or is it people who dare to voice their view that there are only two sexes?

Because that’s not hateful. It’s not even radical. Yes, it might be offensive to some but it sure as hell isn’t a hate crime.

And, if we’re talking hate crimes – what about all those brave women who have spoken out and campaigned for women’s rights and safe spaces? What about the hate they’ve had to endure? I’m talking about the likes of JK Rowling, Sharron Davies, Martina Navratilova, Maya Forstater.

These women have all been at the sharp end of death threats and THE most vile abuse from trans groups. Where’s the law to protect them and their rights?

Martina Navratilova – who has done more for women’s rights than Anneliese Dodds ever will – has already slated Dodds as “just awful”. JK Rowling has also slammed the appointment saying Dodds comments on women have been “nonsensical”. She’s also accused Labour of abandoning her and others campaigning for women’s rights.

And she’s right, because this farcical appointment looks like Starmer is sticking two fingers up at her and those other women campaigners – not to mention the rest of us – who feel that women are being degraded and abandoned as a biological class.

Labour has also hinted it might want to ditch parts of the esteemed Cass Report – which took four painstaking years to compile – which was all about protecting vulnerable, young people who may think, or have been persuaded to think, that they’re in the wrong body.

And it’s looking like Dodds is going to make it easier for these vulnerable people to change gender. Instead of a Gender Recognition Certificate being decided upon by a panel of lawyers and experienced doctors, she wants it to be done by a single GP. How dangerous, how irresponsible is that?

The latest research shows that people who do not identify with the sex they were assigned at birth are THREE to SIX times more likely to be autistic than so-called cisgender people. So how many of these disturbed young people – many of whom may not yet even have been diagnosed as autistic – will yet again fall prey to those who want to prescribe them life-changing hormones?

So Dodds won’t just be trampling on the rights of biological women, her muddled thinking is going to expose vulnerable young people to harm. It defies logic that in a civilised, sensible society, all a man has to do is declare he’s a woman and he can demand that he be treated as one and be allowed into their spaces. Yet this is what Labour wants us all to accept – and to hell with women’s rights and safe spaces.

This appointment has shown unequivocally that biological realities and safe spaces mean nothing to Starmer or the Labour party and all it cares about are trans rights – not understanding there are other rights in danger here, IE, women’s rights.

We’ve also seen how appallingly Labour has treated women’s campaigner and MP Rosie Duffield and tried to hound her out of office because she dared to oppose transgender reforms. Starmer failed utterly to protect this poor woman from the vile, abusive bullies in his own party. And his inaction left her open to more abuse and even death threats from people outside the party.

Before the election, Starmer promised single sex spaces for women and to ban the teaching of gender ideology in schools yet he appoints an equalities minister who can’t even say what a woman is. It’s like some sick joke. Only women aren’t laughing because they see their biological class is in grave danger.

It is not yet a crime in this country to misgender someone and there isn’t yet a law which would compel us to believe that a trans woman is actually a woman. But how long before there is and before this Government makes criminals out of those who don’t agree with the trans ideology?

We've already seen what equates to modern day witch trials of women who have dared to oppose this ideology – death threats, ruined careers, ruined reputations, ritual abuse. Just imagine how much worse that’s going to get with Anneliese Dodds in charge of Women’s rights?
