Carol Vorderman: I LOVE the outdoors
Before going on the show today, Carol Vorderman wrote on Twitter that she had completely damaged her mobile phone.
Teasing the full story, she said: “I drowned my phone this week in a wheelbarrow.....full story tomorrow #HappyDays xx.”
And Carol couldn’t wait to tell listeners all about her unfortunate event as she spoke out about her week off from the radio.
The age-defying beauty said she had been “yurting” in Pembrokeshire last week when disaster struck.
Explaining the situation, she spilled: “We don’t have running water there so we have to fill up a water container.
I drowned my phone this week
"So I put that in the wheelbarrow and put my phone in there.
“Unfortunately the water canister was leaking so by the time I got down to the farm house my phone had been in the water for three minutes.”
She added: “Everyone said put it in rice!”
However, Carol revealed she didn’t have any on hand but instead, left her phone to to dry out.
She continued: “Then it started ringing but the screen wasn’t on so I didn’t know what to press to answer it.
“I switched it off, took it to the shop and when I got back home in the end I had to buy a new one.”
Carol said she has lost many pictures on her phone and contact information from her new friends.
“And now I can’t get the stuff from my old phone,” she said. "So I have lost photographs and all the friends I have made in the last six months.”
Elsewhere, Carol also spoke out about how her stint on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! changed her life.
The mathematician, who starred on the show two years ago, spilled: “Ever since I done I’m a Celeb, I’m addicted to being outside. I want to be in the fresh air all the time.”
Talking about her week “yurting”, Carol admitted she had the best time ever.
"I have a new yurting family in Pembrokeshire,” she divulged. "I done kayaking for the first time in my life, it was just absolutely perfect.”
She added: “It was one of the best weeks of my life.”
Revealing what it takes to be part of the yurting family, she said: “You have to be able to drink a lot of alcohol, have to belly laugh about at least 10 hours a day and be open to opportunities.”
Carol Vorderman will be back on BBC Radio Wales next Sunday from 9.30am.
