Rachel Riley spells CRUDE word on Countdown
Yesterday, Rachel Riley, 32, announced her partnership with brand new trivia quizzing app, FleetWit.
After inviting her 546,000 Twitter followers to play against her, it wasn’t long before the maths whizz received an offer from The Chase star Mark, 52.
The Beast, who is famous for his super-fast quizzing skills on the ITV gameshow, challenged the Countdown presenter in full view of her fans.
However, after their game, he revealed he had been thwarted by the blonde beauty in a shock result.
“Took part in @RachelRileyRR trivia challenge on @FleetWitHQ. She came 40th, I came 42nd… Curses, foiled again,” he told his 91,000 followers.
Absolutely sure I won’t have the bonus seconds advantage for the next race
One fan voiced her incredulity at Mark coming so low in the standings, commenting: “Holy c**p! Who were the other 40 geniuses?”
“Dang that’s hard to believe,” she added, stunned.
Excusing his seemingly poor performance, Mark replied: “It was my first match and I wasted valuable seconds before I realised I could press again…
“Still the result is all that matters,” he admitted.
Rachel was quick to chip in with some lighthearted teasing, saying: “Same time next week Mark!

Trivia fans can go up against Rachel on the app in order to win real cash prizes.
Yesterday, she revealed any winnings she makes will go straight to The Angus Lawson Memorial Trust charity.
Updating followers on her progress earlier this afternoon, she wrote: “So far on @FleetWitHW I’m on just over a 2 to 1 win ratio so that’s $235 to @wwwalmtorg and $$$ to my versus quizzers!
“Keep the challenges coming in, it’s win win,” she added.

It seems she and the Chaser are well matched and, where some people may have been intimated by the thought of facing The Beast, she didn’t seem fazed when he voiced his desire to play against her.
“Am I allowed to play?” he tweeted the former Strictly Come Dancing contestant yesterday afternoon.
“Absolutely! @MarkLabbett you could make a fortune off of me,” she joked.
After Mark announced he was signed up and ready to play, she tweeted keenly: “The big guns are in!”
