Stephen Hawking died peacefully at his family home in Cambridge on 14 March 2018 aged 76.
The famous theoretical physicist and cosmologist is survived by his three children Robert, Lucy and Timothy from his first marriage to Jade Wilde.
The British professor was diagnosed with motor neurone disease in 1963 during his final year at Oxford University when he was just 21.
Hawking was given just two years to live but defied doctors expectations and went on to become a Professor of Mathematics at the University of Cambridge from 1979 to 2009.
The physicist also wrote and co-wrote 17 books including ‘A Brief History of Time’ in 1988 and ‘Black Holes and Baby Universes and Other Essays’ in 1993.
