KIRK DOUGLAS was in high spirits as he took to the stage at the 75th Golden Globe Awards last night.

Before the legendary actor was wheeled out onto the stage with his daughter-in-law Catherine Zeta-Jones, 48, a montage of his best film moments were played to the crowd.
As Kirk arrived on stage, he was welcomed with cheers from the star-studded audience at the venue in Beverly Hills, California.
Famous faces such as Steven Spielberg, Jessica Chastain and Gal Gadot rose to their feet to celebrate the esteemed actor.

He not only hired the black-listed screenwriter Dalton Trumbo to write the epic Spartacus, but he also made sure he was properly credited for his work
The 101-year-old, who suffered a debilitating stroke in 1996, was presenting the award for Best Screenplay Motion Picture.
Introducing Kirk, Catherine said: “In 1991, my father-in-law, this living Hollywood legend Kirk, was recognised by the Writer’s Guild of America for his role in ending the Hollywood black list.
“He not only hired the black-listed screenwriter Dalton Trumbo to write the epic Spartacus, but he also made sure he was properly credited for his work.”

Catherine introduced her father-in-law to the audience
Kirk, who is the father of Michael Douglas, 73, responded: “Catherine, you said it all. I can never follow you.”
The star received many complimentary comments from viewers after his appearance, with one writing on Twitter: “The highlight of the #GoldenGlobes was Kirk Douglas. What an amazing soul, what a beautiful life.”
“#KirkDouglas brought tears to my eyes… 101 years #GoldenGlobes,” added another.
A third commented: “Oprah and 101-year-old Kirk Douglas stole the show!”
