Mark Revill, 50, described himself a “public executioner” in a stream of messages to actress Ms Knightley, 32, and her husband James Righton, 34.
The couple were left fearing for the safety of their one-year-old daughter after he posted indecent images of an underage girl on social media.
Revill was behind bars after he admitted breaching a ban on contacting the couple.
He had been handed the restraining order after being convicted of harassing Ms Knightley last December.
He called himself Mark McCattipuss and had persistently turned up at the couple’s home, bombarded her with cat images and miaowed through the letter box.
Ms Knightley, who beefed up security at her £2million home in north London, was said to be “scared and distressed” by Revill’s renewed campaign.

He flouted the restraining order almost every day between January and April this year.
Revill, of Hackney, east London, also admitted possessing 324 indecent photographs of children at Blackfriars Crown Court.
Judge Rajeev Shetty remanded Revill in custody for psychiatric reports. He will be sentenced later this month.
