The This Morning presenter sported hair rollers as she posed alongside Chizzy Akudolu and hairdresser Lisa Davey for a snap on Instagram.
She could be seen pressing her finger to her lips while the former Holby City star covered her mouth with her hands.
Ruth captioned the shot: "Transformation begins with me & @lil_bit_of_chiz with this miracle worker @lisadaveyhair @bbcstrictly #redcarpet #showtime."
It seems the Loose Women panellist is fully embracing the spirit of Strictly Come Dancing as she earlier shared a Boomerang of herself and Chizzy teasing a glimpse of their outfits and a lot of glitter was scattered on the floor.
They could be seen pointing their feet in the middle of the floor with Chizzy appearing to be wearing a fringed red dress.
"Sequin City & pretty toes for me & @lil_bit_of_chiz today!! @bbcstrictly #redcarpet #showtime #sequins #strictlycomedancing," Ruth wrote next to the snap.
It comes not long after Ruth revealed she had questioned her decision to take part on the BBC series ahead of her first rehearsal.
Following her first time meeting the professional dancers and her fellow competitors, she told her 354,000 followers on Instagram: "Yesterday I had really big anxiety.

Ruth said she really enjoyed her first rehearsal with the professional dancers
"Thinking oh my God, what have I done? I don't think I can do this, I should have lost weight, I should have had dance lessons."
But the 57-year-old confessed following her first rehearsal her attitude had completely changed: "Now, I'm just going this is going to be so much fun. I really loved it."
Strictly Come Dancing 2017 will begin on September 9 on BBC One.
