The reality star, who took part in the BBC show last year before going on to star in Celebrity Big Brother, has three girls with Alistair Eccles, 35.
The 30-year-old split from him in 2013 but they are said to have remained close for the sake of their children.
A spokesperson for Jessica told Express.co.uk today: “Despite their break-up, Alistair was a really good father to their children.
"Jessica is politely asking for some privacy at this devastating time so that she can protect their three girls."

Police also told the Daily Mirror: “We were called shortly before 3am on August 11 following a report that a 35-year-old man had been taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital after he had been found at an address on Underley Street, Burnley.
"He was sadly pronounced deceased at hospital. His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be passed to the Coroner."
The pair ran her business venture, Famous Frocks, together before he was convicted of fraud and they were their separate ways.

She made it to the dreaded interview stage of The Apprentice before being shown the door when her business plan failed to impress.
Just weeks later, Jessica headed into the CBB house and became the seventh housemate to get evicted 13 days in.
