The actress noted that the series has become such a big part of her life that when it finally ends it will feel like losing a member of her family.
"Game of Thrones has been a huge chunk of my life," she confessed. "When it's done, it's going to feel like a death in the family.
"I just completely gave everything to [playing Sansa Stark], all of my emotions. I never used to cry when I was younger. Now I cry all the time - I am an emotional human being."
Sophie also addressed her character's infamous rape scene with Ramsay Bolton (played by Iwan Rheon).

The 21-year-old recently hit back at criticism of the sexual assault and has now revealed that while filming the attack, she left writer Bryan Cogman in tears.
"He was sat there going, 'I am so sorry'," the star divulged to Marie Claire. "They had known me since I was 13 and they were like, 'This is so wrong'."
Sophie also revealed that she almost missed out on the role of Sansa as her mother was not keen on allowing her to be a part of the show but her father insisted: "You have to let her do it."
"My mother was panicking and she called my dad and was like, 'Do we let her do this?" she told the publication.

Away from her role on Game of Thrones, she admitted she is "very happy" dating Joe Jonas but prefers to talk about her friendship with co-star Maisie Williams, who plays her sister Arya Stark.
The pair share the fan name "Mophie", which she much prefers to the one given to her and her beau "Jophie".
"What's the thing they say?" Sophie noted. "Relationships come and go but friendship is always there."
