Clarkson to set new U.S. pop chart record
KELLY CLARKSON will make pop chart history in America on Thursday (29Jan09) when she makes the largest leap to number one in the Billboard Hot 100.
Clarkson is expected to be crowned queen of the charts when her single My Life Would Suck Without You climbs a staggering 96 spots on the chart to get to the top.
The tune, which debuted at a lowly 97 a week ago, has rocketed up the countdown thanks to digital download sales of more than 280,000.
And the new record is one Clarkson has set before - her American Idol victory song, A Moment Like This, jumped up 51 places to number one in October 2002.
The current record leap belongs to Britney Spears, who jumped 95 spots to get to number one with Womanizer last year (08).
