Mel could be set to rescue Bethany as Nathan's grooming plot takes a darker turn
Sonia's character on Coronation Street is currently embroiled in a grooming plot, which sees her boyfriend Nathan (played by Chris Harper) woo teenager Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) as he plans to exploit her as part of a sex ring.
But as things take a more sinister turn in upcoming scenes, it seems Mel may jump to Bethany's rescue after she accepts Nathan's marriage proposal.
She told Soaplife: "Mel is worried for Bethany – she knows what’s coming, she knows it’s not real and she knows how horrible the reality is.
