You'll NEVER guess what Neighbours stripper Daphne Clarke looks like now…
SHE is best known for playing Neighbours' saucy stripper Daphne Rose Clarke back in the mid-eighties, but Australian actress Elaine Smith now looks worlds away from the provocative character she once portrayed.
Emotional moment Daphne passes away on Neighbours
Now 54, Elaine looked unrecognisable as she was spotted out and about last Monday, dressed down in a pair of baggy white trousers and a pattern smock top.
Sporting bold burgundy-rimmed glasses, she paired the look with practical black sandals - an ensemble that was a far cry from anything Neighbours' Daphne would have worn.
Pictured carrying several bags outside a school, Elaine - who was also without her character's bold spiky hair 'do - has since traded in her acting career to become a schoolteacher in Sydney.

Daphne and Des were a happy couple on Neighbours back in the mid-80s
She first rose to fame on the Australian soap back in 1985 when her character made a splash with her unashamedly raunchy past.
Elaine has previously admitted that she was uncomfortable with fame, saying: "I found all the attention pretty overwhelming. I'm a private person. People would shout 'stripper' at me in the street."
She quit acting when her twin daughters were born.
On the show, Daphne gave up stripping to take over the lease to the local coffee shop and befriended many of the Ramsey Street residents, including Guy Pearce who played teenager Mike Young.
Daphne's signature spikey blonde hairdo
Daphne's story lines often centred around her marriage to Des Clarke (played by Paul Keane) with whom she had a son in 1987.
Shortly after becoming a mother, she left to take care of her dying father, but returned again when viewers were unsatisfied with her ending.
Elaine came back to portray Daphne's death as she was killed off in a dramatic car crash, dying in Des' arms in one of the show's earliest tragedies in 1988.
