NEW mother Cheryl was today celebrating her first Mother’s Day with her baby boy amid fevered speculation over his name.
Fans and hoping to learn the name of Cheryl and Liam's baby, with Simon a favourite
The former X Factor judge and One Direction singer Liam Payne revealed they welcomed their bundle of joy on Wednesday.
Cheryl, 33, has said that her son is “already stealing hearts” after a photo was posted of Liam cuddling him.
And her fans are eager to discover his name.
Speculation reached fever pitch yesterday with Simon – paying homage to fellow judge Simon Cowell – the bookies’ favourite.
Alfie was also in the running, as Cheryl had previously admitted she liked the name in an interview in 2012, she said: “I’d love kids. I’m obsessed with babies. Of course I’ve thought about baby names. A million times.
“I like Alfie for a little boy. I know that’s what I was put on the Earth to do. To be a mother.”

Another possible name was Taylor.
I like the name Taylor. Taylor’s pretty neutral for a boy or a girl
In a previous radio interview, Liam, 23, had said: “I like the name Taylor. Taylor’s pretty neutral for a boy or a girl. That’s what I’m going to call my first child.”
Bookmakers last night released odds on a number of names.
Simon is a frontrunner, according to William Hill and Coral, thanks to the boss of X Factor, where they both met.
Bookies have tipped Simon as a homage to Cheryl's fellow X Factor judge
Coral has priced Simon as the favourite at 10-1 while Liam and Will have been placed at 12-1.
David Stevens, of Coral, said: “Simon has emerged as the favourite, after the pop svengali.”
