CHUCK BERRY: The Jacksons & Ringo Starr lead tributes after rock-n-roll star dies aged 90
TRIBUTES have poured in following the tragic death of rock and roll pioneer Chuck Berry.

The music legend was discovered by police at his home in Missouri earlier today, having passed away aged 90.
Motown icons The Jacksons took to Twitter to pay their respects.
They wrote: “Chuck Berry merged blues & swing into the phenomenon of early rock and roll.
“In music, he cast one of the longest shadows. Thank you Chuck.”
Former Beatles drummer Ringo Starr paid tribute to the late star shortly after his passing was announced.
The Jacksons and Ringo Starr were among a number of musicians to pay their respects online
He wrote: “RIP. And peace and love Chuck Berry Mr. rock ’n’ roll music.”
Mr Starr quickly followed his tribute with a second tweet quoting an extract from Berry’s song ‘Rock’n’Roll Man’.
Berry is largely credited as a pioneer of rock and roll music.
Berry was set to release a new album later this year

Among his biggest hits were Johnny B Goode, Roll Over Beethoven and Brown Eyed Handsome Man.
Pop rock band Huey Lewis and the News noted the lasting influence Berry’s music has had on rock and roll.
They wrote: “Chuck Berry. Maybe the most important figure in all of rock and roll.
The late star is considered a key figure in the creation of rock and roll
“His music and his influence will last forever.”
Guns ’n’ Roses guitarist Slash also expressed his sadness over the news.
He said: “Heart broken to hear of the passing of Chuck Berry. He was undisputedly the king.”

Leading novelist Stephen King, a fan of Berry’s, paid tribute to the star also.
He wrote: “Chuck Berry has died. This breaks my heart, but 90 years old ain’t bad for rock and roll.
“Johnn B. Goode forever.”
Rock music veteran Bruce Springsteen said Berry was rock's 'greatest practitioner'
The Rolling Stones also left a heartfelt statement dedicated to Barry after his passing.
It read: “"The Rolling Stones are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Chuck Berry .
"He was a true pioneer of rock & roll and a massive influence on us.
The Rolling Stones, who were heavily influenced by Berry's music, also paid tribute to the icon
“Chuck was not only a brilliant guitarist, singer and performer, but most importantly, he was a master craftsman as a songwriter.”
“His songs will live forever."
