Circus performer swaps clowning for the catwalk after becoming top New York model
A CIRCUS performer has become a top model who struts catwalks in New York, Paris and Tokyo after being spotted in a seaside town.
Tom Gaskin divides his time between New York catwalks and a Norfolk circus
Despite modelling Gucci and Alexander McQueen, Tom Gaskin, 22, still works as a juggler and balancing act at the Hippodrome Circus in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk.
He has no plans to leave the Big Top, where his act includes balancing a stack of wooden chairs on his chin, because he loves traditional circus.

He said: “I am privileged to be able to travel around the world and meet up with famous people, and then come back to my home patch to perform in the circus.”
Two talent spotters from the agency Elite Models London chased Mr Gaskin along a road in the Norfolk town.

He said: “I thought they were going to kidnap me. They asked if I was interested in fashion modelling and I thought they were joking.”
Circus owner Peter Jay said: “He was a huge success in our Christmas Spectacular and has gone off to do modelling and film work, as he’s in a film as a juggler. He is brilliant.”
