The boxer's spouse, 25, went on a lengthy Snapchat rant last week, in which she stated that she was "bullied physically and mentally" by his family.
However, his mother Falak and father Shah have now revealed how they fell out with the model over her clothing but slammed her suggestion that she had been mistreated by them.
Shah, 54, commented: "Faryal was adopting a dress code which in the Islamic faith was not acceptable."
Amir's dad continued: "I am a father to two daughters whom I have treated exactly the same way as I have treated Farya.

We kept asking Amir Khan to tell Faryal Makhdoom not to adopt such a dress code!
"All this started with the issue of dressing. We kept asking Amir to tell her not to adopt such a dress code. And even if she had to wear such dresses, please don’t post it on social media."
He went on say during an interview with Geo News: "After that, we asked Amir but he told us to convey this to Faryal’s mother because she does not listen to him either.
"Every family sees ups and downs. We always strived for reconciliation between Amir and Farya."

The couple previously shared a house with his parents, brother Haroon, 25, and sister Mariyah, 19, before relocating to New York after marrying in 2013.
Faryal had previously told her online followers: "Don't get your sons married if you're going to abuse and bully the wife.
"When you force [Amir] to divorce his wife, when she’s nine months pregnant! And [he] doesn’t… and he sticks beside his wife. He’s called a p***y!? Okay, I’m guessing Islam teaches us to get married and divorce our wives and treat them bad?"
