The eight-bedroom mansion, which stands in about an acre and was largely designed by the Hollywood Wives and Lucky Chances writer, was put on the market in February for £22.8 million and later reduced to £18.7 milion.
According to Variety, the buyer also bought a smaller property next door, also owned by Collins, for about £6.9 million.
The main house, completed in 1992, was inspired by David Hockney's painting A Bigger Splash, with a huge pool and spa in the middle of the central courtyard.
It also has a 100-foot long art gallery linking the main house to a wing containg a guest flat, staff quarters, a gym and a screening-room.
