TONY BLACKBURN is recovering well after a two-hour operation to remove part of his enlarged prostate gland, according to reports.

A friend of the former Radio 1 DJ, who was sacked by the BBC six months ago, is said to have undergone hi-tech laser treatment, which was a success.
The 73-year-old was hospitalised in London after reportedly waking up in pain, and the procedure happened less than a day later.
Tony's pal commented: "Fortunately, he doesn’t have cancer. He awoke in pain at his home in Hertfordshire and was operated on the next day."
They continued: "But, he simply can’t bear being away from the mic for too long and has been able to host his two commercial radio station slots on Sundays," the Daily Mirror stated.

Failing to mention his health concerns, Tony took to Twitter today discuss the EU Referendum result.
"Good morning all. I think the most important question today is will we still be taking part in the Eurovision Song Contest?" he asked his 71,000 followers.
Tony, who works for KMFM in Kent and Absolute Radio, also added: "A lovely sunny day here in Hertfordshire, I just hope it stays like it and not cloud over as usual."

It's been a difficult 12 months for the star who was axed from the BBC after a 49-year career.
Tony was accused of failing to co-operate with the Jimmy Savile inquiry, but his wife Debbie claimed that he had been made a scapegoat.
Express.co.uk contacted a spokesperson for the star but they declined to comment.
