The former Celebrity Big Brother contestant simply wrote "Happy mothers day" followed by a heart emoji on his social media account as he remembered his mum, who tragically passed away when he was 15.
He was hit by a wave of hurtful comments following his dignified message with some users accusing him of "using" his mother's memory amid the ongoing drama surrounding his relationship with Stephanie Davis.
One user wrote: "he should show some dignified silence her memory has been used in this holy mess enough that's what I'm saying!"
They continued: "You have no shame."

The reality star was quickly inundated with supportive messages with one fan tweeted: "@JezzaMcConnell WOW there is some horrible people around!!
"Ignore them Jeremy, they are the minority, no one should be without there mum."
Another added: "@JezzaMcConnell some cruel people about. As if today isn't bad enough, without people being horrible."
One Twitter user hit back: "Really people? I really don't agree with the things he has done but don't use this post to express that. Not today!"

Jeremy previously opened up to Stephanie about his late mother
Jeremy previously opened up about losing his mother, sister and brother within 15 months of each while in the Big Brother house.
Speaking about his loss, he said: "Of course I miss them, I loved them dearly, but I think that's what levelled me out a bit - I express myself the way I want to. I just grew up really fast. I don't really give a s***."
Stephanie, who split from the Irish model last week, also made a touching tribute to his mother Val.
She wrote on her Twitter account: "Happy Mother's Day mummy @paulinedavis66 and val."
