Terry Wogan’s son says his dad would hate all this fuss
SIR Terry Wogan would be embarrassed by the “fuss” over his death, his family have said.

Millions have paid tribute to the broadcasting legend since his death from cancer at the age of 77 at the weekend.
Prime Minister David Cameron led the way by describing Sir Terry as “someone millions came to feel was their own special friend”.
But the BBC Radio 2 presenter’s son Mark said his modest father would think the outpouring of grief was unnecessary.

A statement read out by an emotional Chris Evans during a special episode of The One Show said: “I and the rest of the family would like to keep our grief private for now.

“We as a family though are overwhelmed by and grateful for the love and support displayed for our beloved husband, father and grandfather.
“He would be embarrassed by all the fuss but we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”
The hour-long show ended with the Brighouse and Rastrick Brass Band playing The Floral Dance, the song Sir Terry released in 1978 which reached 21 in the UK singles chart.
The Limerick-born entertainer died at the home he shared with wife Lady Helen in the village of Taplow, Bucks, on Sunday after a “brief but brave” battle.

Sir Terry was a Deputy Lieutenant of his adopted county and a book of condolence was opened at Buckinghamshire County Council’s offices in Aylesbury yesterday.
No details of the funeral have been released.
