Catherine Zeta Jones blames Hollywood bosses for lack of female roles in the industry
CATHERINE ZETA JONES has hit out at Hollywood bosses for not giving older women the roles they deserve.
Hollywood actress Catherine Zeta Jones talked about women in film today
The 46-year-old says that the industry is keeping her age group on the shelf, because they believe audiences aren't interested in female focused stories.
In a webchat for Mumsnet, Catherine said: "It's not that there aren't great stories to be told about women in their 40s, it's just that the big bosses in Hollywood feel that the demographic of moviegoers are less interested.
"I wanted to be in film because I was brought up watching great performances by women in their 40s."
The actress continued that there needs to be a conversation in place to tackle such an imbalance.

Speaking about the current Oscars race row - sparked by the absence of nominations for black and minority ethnic actors - Catherine said: "Regarding the diversity issues that are sweeping Hollywood at the moment, I still find it sad that we're even discussing this at this time."
