Duncan Bannatyne took to Twitter to vent his frustration about the trains

The 66-year-old I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Here! star was left seriously unimpressed when his train from London to Darlington was caught up in rail disruptions that brought the country to a standstill.

Duncan, who was travelling with his 35-year-old girlfriend Nigora Whitehorn, publicly blasted the rail company on his social media page as he demanded to switch to a different train when his grounded to a halt.

This morning the Scottish entrepreneur shared his glee about heading home for the holidays.

“I am so excited,” he said. “So excited, so excited. Just need to get train from Kings Cross to Darlington and I am home.”

But unfortunately for Duncan it wasn’t that straight-forward.

"How about informing us when we will get a cup of tea? And when the elderly lady in my carriage can get a sandwich," he tweeted to the train’s customer services team.

After the refreshments cart made its way round, he continued to complain that his girlfriend was still very hungry as she’s “gluten-intolerant” and the company was “not able to offer her anything” despite earlier sharing a snap of the food he’d taken on board for them.

Later he announced that the matter had been sorted but he still wasn’t happy about not knowing what time he’d arrive home.

Claire Manning, who works for the company, replied saying: “You’re right so you only had to ask. Not until we move unfortunately it's just as frustrating for staff too.”

He retorted: “Nope. We asked twice and got nothing until you tweeted so it is very wrong of you to say that.”

Duncan also indulged in a small spat with another Twitter user when she accused him of being “arrogant”.

“Nobody is being arrogant here except you,” he wrote. “You are also very rude. Chill out and remember it is Xmas.”

The news comes after he laid into a 12-year-old boy who looked up to him and asked for his advice.

The young fan called Rocco Rose wrote: "Hey, I asked you for an idea for another business plan of what I can do. I took up buying and selling stuff online. Thank you!"

Duncan soon snapped back: "I know you did and I ignored you. Who do you think you are?"

Rocco replied: "A young boy wishing to grow up like you, an entrepreneur. I look up to you."

The boy has since spoken of his "disappointment" over the exchange and said he has been left feeling "upset and ashamed" by his hero.
