SIMON Cowell has revealed he is “not proud” of getting his friend’s wife pregnant.

But the TV guru said they are all “moving on” as he settles into life as a committed partner to Lauren Silverman and loving father to their toddler son Eric.
Opening up about his private life, Cowell, 56, said he had been on an emotional rollercoaster over the past two years.
The X Factor boss said he was set on building a life with partner Lauren, 38, who left millionaire businessman Andrew Silverman following the affair in 2009.
The pair met on Silverman’s private yacht.
Cowell said: “I’m not proud of the circumstances. I can’t hold my head up about it. But we have we all moved on.”
In 2013 their lives changed after Lauren announced she was pregnant.

He said: “I remember going to the first scan. Something just kicked in. I felt unbelievably protective of both of them.”
Cowell said he loves being a dad to Eric, whom he named after his own late father.
He said: “I’m not a conventional dad but then I’m not a conventional man. I adore my son. We make each other laugh.”

Months after the joy of fatherhood came sadness when his mother Julie died, aged 89.
Often his adviser and friend, he said her death was a devastating blow.
But things are looking up for Cowell who was recently awarded the coveted Music Industry Trusts Award.

The record label owner, worth £355million, said he was humbled by the honour but admitted he knew he would make it to the top, even when he was working as a post boy.
He said: “I irritated the hell out of everyone in the music industry. I was this arrogant kid who absolutely believed in myself.”
Cowell overspent and lost everything in his 30s before picking himself back up with Pop Idol in 2001.
