Downton's Lily James and Michelle Dockery stun at Harper’s Bazaar Women of the Year awards
DOWNTON Abbey’s days may be numbered but two of its stars have been honoured as the very best of British.

Lily James and Michelle Dockery stole the show at tonight’s Harper’s Bazaar Women of Year awards.
Their gongs were fitting recognition for the much-loved period drama which will come to an end after six series on Christmas Day. Lily, 26, who plays Lady Rose Aldridge – and the title role in the Disney blockbuster Cinderella – won the Breakthrough Award.
She said: “I have such happy memories and a sense of accomplishment about being on the show. I don’t know if I’d be here if it weren’t for Downton.”

Michelle, 33, plays Lady Mary Crawley whose eventful existence has seen her become engaged twice, married, widowed and become a mother.

She picked up the Television Icon Award to accompany three Emmy nominations and two Screen Actors Guild Awards which she shared with the rest of the cast.
She said: “In the first week of the first series I nipped down my local newsagents to get a pint of milk and there was me, Laura Carmichael and Jessica Brown Findlay on the cover of three newspapers.”

Kate Winslet, 40, received the British Icon Award in recognition of a career in which she has won an Oscar, an Emmy, three Golden Globes and a Grammy.
Sienna Miller, 33, won the British Actress Award for performances in films including Mississippi Grand, American Sniper and Burnt.
