Outrage as facelift to Clooney's £10M home shatters village calm
BUILDERS’ rubble, noise, scores of lorries and unsightly scaffolding are proving a nightmare for neighbours as work goes on at Hollywood heartthrob George Clooney’s £10million mansion.
George Clooney & wife Amal have upset residents of Sonning, Berks with their mansion renovations
A woman – who lives near the site in Sonning, Berks but asked not to be named – said: “The building work is disgusting and it’s starting to drive me mad. The whole place looks an absolute mess and it seems like there is no end in sight to the carnage. It should have finished by now anyway.”
Another resident said: “The peace of riverside Sonning has been completely shattered by the building work and by the builders themselves.
“The workers on the site are always yelling and shouting when people are trying to enjoy a walk along the river. It has really ruined the peace and quiet.”

The pool, a pergola and a hot tub will be built on to the boathouse, allowing George and his wife Amal, 37, to make the most of the nearby Thames.
New boundary fencing is being added and solid gates fitted.
The heavily-criticised project comes just months after a planning row over CCTV cameras which got the go-ahead in modified form.
