The former Ground Force TV star has angered plot holders by suggesting that vegetable patches should be split into four so that more people can take advantage of the surge in interest in growing food.
Charlie said many plots were so big they ended up covered in weeds.
She also told Amateur Gardening magazine that most people do not want to grow traditional veg like potatoes and runner beans, and prefer more exotic produce like chillies.

But Sean James Cameron, who hosts online gardening show The Horticultural Channel, said: “Charlie Dimmock should stick to dealing with garden ponds and refrain from commenting on subjects which she clearly knows nothing about.
“What can you do with a quarter plot? It’s impossible to be self sufficient with a quarter plot.”

That’s what allotments are for.”
