CAROL KIRKWOOD couldn't resist showing off her quirky new hat on Twitter this morning, as she selected her look for Ladies Day at Royal Ascot tomorrow.

The weather presenter's unusual number featured eye-catching gold discs and chains, as well as multi-coloured netting on the side.
The 53-year-old, who regularly presents her BBC Breakfast segments from various places around the country, attracted a lot of comments with her fun post.
Carol captioned the snap: "Ladies Day at Royal Ascot tomorrow. Getting prepared for it… Thank you #StephenJones."
She then added: "Oops forgot to attach piccie. Doh," while looking stunning in a low-cut, pink dress.

Despite tweeting to say: "Bit late (very busy am)… Good morning," the star certainly didn't look as though she'd got ready in a hurry as she wowed in the curve-hugging outfit.
Fans were quick to compliment her bizarre headgear, with users writing: "@carolkirkwood now on me that would look awful. On you it looks fantastic!"
