Ellie Goulding admits to brief romance with 1D's Niall Horan but Dougie Poynter's The One
ELLIE GOULDING has finally cleared up rumours surrounding herself and Niall Horan, while revealing that she sees herself marrying current boyfriend, Dougie Poynter.
Ellie Goulding has opened up about her love life to ELLE magazine
Speaking to July's ELLE magazine, the hitmaker opened up about her love life, which she claimed had never involved fellow musician Ed Sheeran.
The 28-year-old sports a slicked back 'do for the cover of the publication's Body issue, while admitting she found the interest in her relationships "frustrating".
When asked about the One Direction heartthrob, 21, Ellie commented: "I did go on a few dates with Niall, but I was never in a relationship with Ed. I have absolutely no idea where that came from and why it was turned into such a big thing."
It was previously reported that the singer was the inspiration behind Ed's tune Don't, about a cheating ex of his.
The singer said she had enjoyed a few dates with Niall Horan
Ellie continued: "I find it so frustrating that female musicians are constantly defined by the men they have or haven’t dated. It’s something I’ve talked about with Taylor [Swift] a lot."
However, despite her past issues, the blonde beauty is now loved-up with McBusted crooner Dougie, 27.
She said: "He is definitely The One. He’s been through a lot, and he has a quiet depth that I love. When I was a teenager, I fancied him but I thought he was so out of my league."
The British beauty also hinted that Dougie Poynter was the man she wanted to marry
The star also seemed to suggest that a wedding might be happening in the not too distant future for the pair, after stating Calvin Harris had already offered to play for them on their big day.
Ellie's interview came just hours before Dougie also hinted at an engagement, while attending the Glamour Women Of The Year Awards with her in London.
When asked if the pair were set to walk down the aisle, he told the MalOnline: "Well… I don't want to say too much. It would ruin the surprise."
The full interview appears in the July issue of ELLE UK - on sale now.
