Rio Ferdinand admits to crying at a wedding in moving interview PRIOR to his wife's death
RIO FERDINAND admitted that the last time he cried was at a friend's wedding, in an interview shortly before his wife Rebecca's death.
Rio Ferdinand spoke about the last time he cried in an interview with this month's Esquire
The footballer, who said he'd never shed a tear over a film, laid his spouse to rest last week after she lost her short battle with cancer on May 1.
Speaking in June’s Esquire, the 36-year-old said: "I’ve never cried at a film. The last time I cried was at a wedding when I was best man.
"I was worrying about my speech and it all just got too much."
Rio married Rebecca, who was diagnosed with breast cancer just five weeks before she died, in 2009 and they have three children together.

During the chat, the QPR centre-back hinted that he felt as though he was punching above his weight with his late spouse.
Rio said: "My looks are an acquired taste. You play the cards you’ve been dealt."
The star also opened up about his thoughts on religion, but said he found his views conflicting.
He added: "I’m not religious. I believe that there is a higher power but I have difficulty in really going one way or the other with it."
Rebecca was diagnosed with breast cancer just five weeks before she died
Rio announced that Rebecca had passed away in the Royal Marsden Hospital in London on May 2, via his club’s official website.
He wrote: "She was a fantastic loving mother to our three beautiful children. She will be missed as a wife, sister, aunt, daughter and granddaughter. She will live on in our memory, as a guide and inspiration."
Rebecca was first diagnosed with breast cancer last year and appeared to be clear of the disease, but a scan this year revealed the cancer had returned and spread to her bones.
