The TV beauty, who got engaged to the 36-year-old footballer four years ago, confessed that "no one ever grows up thinking they want to be a step-mum" this week.
Speaking about being a parent to Luna, nine, and Isla, seven, from her fiancé's previous relationship with Elen Rivas, the 36-year-old said: "It's got a bad reputation thanks to Disney.
"I was talking about this the other night with my friends, and we were saying no one grows up thinking I want to be a step-mum.
"It's a role you find yourself in and I'm very aware of trying to do it as brilliantly as I can."

The couple got engaged four years ago
The couple, who met in 2009, decided to wait a year before Christine met the children, who she now says are her "little mates."
She continued: "I have them tonight. I'm picking them up from school. We do homework. We have girlie chats.
"I'm not their mum, nor do I want to be. My role is to make sure that they're happy when they're with us and I like to think that if you asked them that's what they'd say."
Despite Frank popping the question back in 2011, a date for their wedding has still not been set.
Christine admitted no one aspires to be a step mum when they grow up
Christine, who was speaking to Weekend Magazine, explained: "The crazy thing is that when I tell the truth it sounds like I'm trying to hide something.
"Honestly, everything is up in the air. Frank was meant to have gone to New York in January, now it might be later this year, so we can't plan anything.
"We know what we want, which is a small family affair. We're not stressed about it at all. I've had the most enjoyable engagement."
