Poldark heartthrob Aidan Turner STILL doesn't think he's good looking despite army of fans
HE MAY have an army of female fans, but Poldark's Aidan Turner still doesn't consider himself a hunk.
Aidan is fast becoming a favourite among viewers
The star of the BBC1 show may bring in more than 6million viewers per episode, but he insists that he still can't watch himself on television.
The actor said, according to The Mirror: “It’s not easy to watch yourself.
“I don’t know any actor who does enjoy it and the more time goes on, the harder it gets. I’m quite critical of myself.”
“I don’t look in the mirror and think I’m handsome,” he continued.
“I looked this morning and saw spots on my face.”
Actor admits he uses baby oil on his abs
It's not only the 31-year-old's face that has had people talking since the first Poldark episode aired earlier this month, with his glistening muscles also getting a fair amount of attention.
The actor recently told The Sunday Times that as well as hitting the gym, he's also known to pile on the baby oil to enhance his torso in the remake of Winston Graham’s historical novels.
However, Aidan, who plays Captain Ross Poldark in the adaptation, dismissed claims that he used ladies’ make-up to maintain his smouldering looks.

“Definitely not mascara,” he said, but he might have worn eyeliner “for some scenes”.
Aidan also reportedly gave up eating pasties, a staple of the Cornish diet, to keep in trim.
But he insisted that he was not dietobsessed and hated going to the gym.
“I need to do it for some jobs,” he said.
“I just didn’t see Poldark having a beer belly or being out of shape.”
For his next role, the heartthrob actor said he wanted “to grow a beard and put on loads of weight”.
