Sarah Jessica Parker gets emotional as she enjoys low-key 50th birthday with family in NYC
HER alter ego Carrie loves NYC and Sarah Jessica Parker proved that she adores the city just as much, as she celebrated her 50th birthday there yesterday.
SJP spends birthday with her son, James
The actress may have turned the big 5-0 on yesterday, but instead of opting for a huge birthday bash, she chose to spend the day up the Empire State Building with her adorable 12-year-old son, James.
"Who knows what the rest of the day holds," Parker posted, alongside a very cute photograph.
She added: "But who could ask for more?"
The SATC star, who has three children with her husband Matthew Broderick, started the day off by having breakfast made for her by her five-year-old twins, Marion and Tabitha.
They accompanied the eggs and tomatoes - that had been arranged as a smiley face - with cute handwritten notes saying "Happy Birthday" to their mum.
"Prepared and plated and table set by 2 pixes who make waking on this day ever more wonderful," the actress wrote.
She then finished off her night with a lovely meal and some cocktails, that she of course, shared photographs of.
The night before, SJP had spent the night at a New York Rangers game, again, with her son.
Sat directly behind Tom Hanks at Madison Square Garden, the celebrity pals were seen sharing jokes and generally having a great time.
When images emerged of her seemingly giving the actor "side eye" though, she felt the need to take to explain why she was giving him a bit of a dirty look.

SATC star enjoys family time ahead of 50th birthday
Parker said, according to the Mail Online: "We were all pretend fighting about them being Kings fans and us being Rangers fans. I adore Tom and Rita".
The curly haired star's hubby, Broderick, also celebrated his birthday last week.
The couple headed to Turks and Caicos, along with their three children, where they enjoyed an exotic holiday and a bit of a break from the Big Apple.
