The F1 world champion jetted to the UK for emergency talks with Nicole Scherzinger
Despite hiding his face behind a pair of designer glasses, it was clear to see Lewis was feeling down.
Last night the star arrived at a hotel in central London for what sources have called 'last ditch talks' with Nicole.
Meanwhile, Nicole, 36, has revealed that it was a mutual decision to call time on their relationship, and she still loves Lewis very much.
Speaking to The Sun yesterday, Nicole said: "I'm devastated that it didn't work out. It was the hardest decision we had to make, but we made it together.
Lewis and Nicole officially announced their relationship back in 2007 but the pair briefly split in January 2010 after just 20 months together.
His split with the singer was reportedly mutual
Reconciling, the pair then split again in late 2011 but kissed and made-up to give their relationship another go in early 2012.
The never-ending tale of Nicole and Lewis hit another low in July 2013 when the couple split once more.
Although they never officially confirmed it, the pair were back together by February 2014 and everything appeared to go swimmingly.
A source told Mail Online yesterday the reason for the couple's split this time is because Nicole wants to get married but Lewis isn't ready.
The source said: "It's been seven years now, and it's always the same reason that splits them up. Love always brings them back together."
