'It was traumatic for the whole family' Jerry Hall opens up about L'Wren Scott's death
THEIR marriage may have ended 15 years ago, but that didn't mean that Jerry Hall wasn't there for Sir Mick Jagger when his long-term girlfriend passed away.
The Texan-born model has spoken out about how L'Wren Scott's tragic death on March 17 affected the entire family, but also brought them closer together.
In an exclusive and frank interview with Good Housekeeping magazine, Jerry explained: "They were so good, I was so proud of them. All the children went – just giving him a lot of love and support. It was very traumatic for the whole family.
"It is a horrible thing, suicide – you can never figure that out. We all got on really well, peace was reigning. It was a shock for the whole family, and Mick was just devastated – it was a big shock for him."
Despite their marriage not lasting, Jerry admitted that she remains close to the Rolling Stones rocker and even gets on with his other children.

"We are very, very friendly we speak about the children and we really get on well," she said.
"Of course it is challenging, because we used to be married and you have a divorce and then there are children from different mums. I’m sure anyone would agree that is a challenge! But we all love each other, and I get on great with all the mums."
The former Strictly Come Dancing contestant even defended Mick's choice to see other women just a few months after L'Wren's death.
"I didn't see any of that. He is single now and he can do what he likes," she added.
Jerry, herself, has moved on from her days with the singer and is currently in a relationship with academic Armand Leroi.
Commenting on the romance, she said: "I don’t have a checklist – you meet someone and you get on. It is a miracle, I think, to meet someone you like. Really nice.
The mother-of-four is clearly feeling very grateful, especially following the death of family friend Peaches Geldof.
"It was tragic," she said of the loss. "She was such a bright, lovely girl with two beautiful babies. We are all heartbroken – it is awful. People have these moments of madness don’t they?
She continued: "We used to have holidays together, so I’ve known Peaches and her sisters since they were little. Bob is a wonderful father. I don’t know if you ever recover from something like that, I don’t think so."
The full interview with Jerry Hall can be seen in the September issue of Good Housekeeping, which is on sale Thursday August 7 and is also available as a digital edition.
