Now THAT's Posh! Victoria Beckham poses as the Lady of the Manor
AS a pop star Victoria Beckham rejoiced in the nickname Posh Spice.
But she never looked half as posh back then as she does now, posing as a lady of the manor for the August issue of British Vogue.
The former Spice Girl agreed to the tongue-in-cheek photoshoot to mark her 40th birthday, in April.
Leading French fashion photographer Patrick Demarchelier, 70, shows her in one image wearing a Max Mara sweater, Hunter wellies and a tweed hat from royal milliner Stephen Jones as she sits on a country house garden stone wall amid an array of bluebells.
I looked at turning 40 and said to myself, ‘I have four incredible children, an incredible husband and a business that’s doing very well
In the magazine cover shot she appears the perfect aristocrat as she cuddles King Charles spaniel Digby, owned by Vogue’s fashion director Lucinda Chambers.
Fashion designer Victoria, wife of footballing legend David Beckham, 39, discusses in an interview what the milestone 40th birthday meant to her.
"I looked at turning 40 and said to myself, ‘I have four incredible children, an incredible husband and a business that’s doing very well’," she says.
"I’ve worked hard and achieved a lot. I don’t think I could have achieved much more."
She says her ultra-slim and toned physique is down to visits to Barry’s Bootcamp in London for workouts and sessions with Tracy Anderson, personal trainer to her friend, actress Gwyneth Paltrow, 41.
"I had dinner in Los Angeles with Gwyneth Paltrow and (fashion designer) Valentino," adds Victoria.
"I said to Gwyneth that her body looked amazing and she introduced me to Tracy Anderson. I started when I was pregnant with Harper (her three-year-old daughter). It is very challenging."
Husband David, whom she married in 1999, and with whom she also has three boys, earns a moving tribute in the interview.
"I wouldn’t be where I am without David," says Victoria. "He gives me the security and encouragement to do what I do. I do the same for him."
