'It was meant to be insignificant': Pippa Middleton explains about THAT bridesmaid dress
PIPPA MIDDLETON shot to fame when her sister Kate Middleton married Prince William in 2011, and she was a bridesmaid with one of the most talked about bottoms in the world.
Speaking about her sister's wedding day in her first ever one-on-one interview with Matt Lauer, Pippa said: "We suddenly saw crowds rushing around to the balcony and it suddenly like 'Wow, this is pretty special'."
The former journalist, who was speaking on American morning programme the Today Show, explained the furore around her bridesmaid dress was "unexpected".
Pippa, 30, revealed: "It was completely unexpected. You know, I think the plan was not really for it to be a significant dress. Really just to sort of blend in with the train.
"I suppose it's flattering but a little embarrassing, definitely. It wasn’t planned. It was supposed to be insignificant."
She added: "[The dress] is in my wardrobe at home. No, I haven't worn it since. I think I'll just keep it there. I'll bring it out if someone wants to see it, or if my children one day want to see it, but it's tucked away."
It's the first time Pippa has spoken out about her lifestyle, which significantly changed when her sister married Prince William.
The University of Edinburgh graduate has since released a book on party planning, entitled Celebrate.
