Cate Blanchett goes for the plunge in sexy sequin gown at AACTA Awards in Sydney
SHE may be turning 45 this year, but Cate Blanchett has still got what it takes to compete with Hollywood stars half her age.
The blonde actress proved this point perfectly yesterday as she walked the red carpet at the 3rd annual AACTA Awards in Sydney wearing a seriously sexy dress.
The mother-of-three arrived at The Star in Australia in a floor-length sequinned mahogany-and-gold Givenchy Spring 2014 sleeveless gown which featured a plunging neckline, leather trims at the arm openings and waist, and a pleated skirt.
Cate, who is up for an Academy Award for her role in Blue Jasmine, teamed the risque dress with gold platform heels and a black clutch bag as she posed for the cameras solo.
The Australian star certainly let her dress do all of the talking, and as a result decided to keep her accessories to a minimum by wearing a couple of cocktail rings and subtle earrings.
She wore her blonde hair up in a relaxed ponytail and was seen giggling as she walked the red carpet and greeted fans.
Other stars at the award ceremony included Australian singer Delta Goodrem, Lara Bingle and Sam Worthington.
