Michael Palin set for TV acting return after two decades
MONTY PYTHON legend MICHAEL PALIN is to make his acting return in his first TV role in more than 20 years.
The funnyman will star in The Wipers Times, a new BBC drama set during World War I. The series tells the tale of soldiers who set up a satirical newspaper after discovering a printing press in a bombed-out town in Belgium.
The show will co-star Emilia Fox and Ben Chaplin and will air later this year (13).
Palin has concentrated on fronting travel documentaries in recent years - his last dramatic TV acting role was in the 1991 mini-series G.B.H. alongside Robert Lindsay. Meanwhile, his last on-screen film appearance was in 1997's Fierce Creatures.
