Tom Hanks braves rain during Lucky Guy performance after theatre leak
Actor TOM HANKS was far from a LUCKY GUY on Friday night (07Jun13) when he was pelted with rain throughout his Broadway performance due to a leak in the theatre.
Tropical Storm Andrea moved through New York City on Friday, dumping heavy rain across the area and causing massive flooding, and the 96-year-old Broadhurst Theater, where Hanks is currently staging his Tony Award-nominated production, was no match for Mother Nature and the building sprung a leak, soaking the entire cast.
Ever the professionals, the actors carried on and the show went off without a hitch, though the group was forced to dry off backstage, according to the New York Daily News.
Perhaps Hanks' luck will turn around on Sunday (09Jun13) - he is up for best actor at the 2013 Tony Awards thanks to his portrayal of the Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Mike McAlary.
