George Clooney and Matt Damon take over Pontins resort as they film new war movie
GUESTS at a Pontins resort in Camber Sands were left stunned when actors George Clooney and Matt Damon turned up to stay.
The Hollywood pair are currently filming new movie 'Monuments Men' and have taken over the resort in East Sussex with movie bosses having occupied 85 rooms there.
According to The Sun, a source confirmed their stay and said that the two stars as well as the rest of the crew enjoyed the Cabaret night on Tuesday.
"They’ve been in and out — you can’t miss them," they told the newspaper.
Clooney and Damon were also spotted enjoying a fish and chips dinner at a pub in nearby Rye, proving they're more than happy to mingle with the locals.
'Monuments Men' is a US drama which was co-written, produced and is being directed by Clooney.
The film follows the story of the Monuments, Fine Arts, and Archives program, an Allied group, tasked with saving pieces of art and other culturally important items before their destruction by Hitler during World War II.
It is scheduled to be released this year on December 18.
