Trace Adkins wins All-Star Celebrity Apprentice
Country singer TRACE ADKINS scooped £226,000 for charity when he was named DONALD TRUMP's All-Star CELEBRITY APPRENTICE on Sunday (19May13).
Adkins was "hired" by Trump after seeing off competition from magician Penn Jillette during the live finale of the business-themed TV competition.
The Ladies Love Country Boys hitmaker pulled ahead in the show's last task, which was to create a new ice cream flavour, and redeemed himself after initially losing the Celebrity Apprentice title to Piers Morgan in 2008.
Despite the tension throughout the two-hour episode, Adkins was full of praise for his rival, insisting, "If I'm gonna lose, I wanna lose to the best, and by God he's the best."
Adkins' winnings will be donated to the American Red Cross while Jillette also earned £64,500 for Las Vegas charity Opportunity Village.
Trump also handed another £64,500 to axed Apprentice competitor Lil Jon's favoured charity, the American Diabetes Association. The hip-hop star's mother, who suffered from the disease, died after filming on the contest wrapped.
