Bonnie Tyler's fear of being last in Eurovision
BONNIE Tyler has admitted she feels like a “lamb to the slaughter” before her UK entry for Eurovision this evening.
The singer, 61, says the whole competition is “a bit political” but hopes more than anything she does not come last with her song Believe In Me.
“I’m like a lamb to the slaughter – a Welsh lamb!” she said.
“It’s a bit political but let’s be realistic, 120 million people watch Eurovision, I’ve got a fantastic new album coming out, somebody at the BBC likes it… and I’m going to say no?”
She added: “It sounds very naughty to say this, but I don’t care if I win. But it wouldn’t be very nice to come last, would it?”
Sadly for Bonnie, things are not looking good and she currently has odds of just 33/1 to win with Ladbrokes.
The bookmaker has revealed how one unpatriotic UK punter placed a £10,000 bet last night – on Denmark.
And with odds of 4/5, he will collect £18,000 if the Danish entry wins.
Denmark’s entry, stunning and prodigiously talented 20-year-old Emmelie de Forest, stands a good chance.
She is the favourite with all UK bookmakers with her song, Only Teardrops.
Meanwhile, Tyler will represent Britain in the 58th Eurovision Song Contest in Malmo, Sweden, with her song written by Americans and recorded in Nashville.
The Eurovision Song Contest final is broadcast on BBC1 from 8pm tonight.
