Lisa Riley's top hat and slim tails
TWIRLING her cane and doffing her top hat, slimmed-down Lisa Riley slinked her way to foxtrot delight last night.
The former Emmerdale star who has dropped four dress sizes, from a 26 to 20 in as many weeks through her punishing Strictly Come Dancing regime, looked in her element as she danced to the Natalie Cole song, This Will Be (An Everlasting Love), with partner Robin Windsor.
Yet Lisa, 36, who has become one of the show’s favourites by proving that big girls can dance, was not the only one to show the benefit from a month’s “dancercise” to whittle down the waistline...
Fern Britton was only too happy to reveal her toned legs as she danced the Salsa to Gloria Estefan’s You’ll Be Mine in a short, fringed fuchsia dress. The 55-year-old, who is dancing with Russian Artem Chigvintsev, 30, complemented her new look with a fresh hairstyle. If Fern is happy to show a lot, however, TV star Richard Arnold isn’t and has promised to keep his chest covered up.
The showbusiness editor of ITV’s Daybreak says he loves dressing up to get into character for dances like the Paso Doble and The Charleston, for which he portrayed a hairdresser on last night’s show.
There is no way anyone is going to see my flesh
He has vowed to leave flashing the flesh to more toned celebrities on the BBC dance contest, however, like former England cricket captain Michael Vaughan, who wore a revealing outfit as he danced a Salsa with professional partner Natalie Lowe last night.
Arnold, 42, said: “There is no way anyone is going to see my flesh.”
