Tom Cruise rocks up for premiere
HOLLYWOOD star Tom Cruise and comedian Russell Brand released their inner rockers at London’s Leicester Square last night at the premiere of Rock Of Ages.
The American A-lister got into his red-carpet role as a hard-rock star by making a rather menacing grimace as
he gave the universal hand sign for heavy metal fans.
Cruise’s co-star Brand looked more serene as they both made “devil horn” signs, in both directions, for the crowd.
With his long hair, gothic scarf and tight, black jeans perhaps Brand, 37, thought he already looked the part.
Cruise, 49, was happy to pose with waiting admirers and said learning to sing for the role was like working out for an action movie – only using different muscles.
In Rock Of Ages, he plays Stacee Jaxx, a frequently shirtless, arrogant, charming Eighties rock musician at the height of his career.
The film is narrated by Brand’s character Lonny Barlett – given a Brummie accent by the British star as a tribute to Black Sabbath singer Ozzy Osbourne.

Based on the Broadway musical and littered with heavy rock hits, the film follows small-town girl Sherrie Christian, played by Julianne Hough, and city boy Drew Boley played by Diego Boneta, who share a dream of making it big in Hollywood.
