Eurovision: Scissor Sisters 'would love to' represent UK
AMERICAN pop band Scissor Sisters have vowed to end the UK's Eurovision woe.
Saturday night saw the UK flop once again at the song contest, as Engelbert Humperdinck finished second from bottom.
The 76-year-old scored just 12 points, as he was only prevented from the humiliation of finishing last by Norway receiving five points fewer.
But, with the rules stating that contestants do not have to actually be from the country they are representing, Scissor Sisters confirmed they would be willing to take on the challenge next year.
"I would go on Eurovision, totally," singer Jake Shears told BBC Radio Five Live.
"If I was asked I would gladly do it for you. I would love to. I'd be happy to."
One of the biggest acts to win Eurovision, Celine Dion, represented Switzerland when she won in 1988 despite being a Canadian national.
If I was asked I would gladly do it for you. I would love to. I'd be happy to.
The UK hasn't won Eurovision since 1997, with our entrants finishing last in 2003, 2008 and 2010.
