Giorgia Moll, an Italian actress best known for her roles in The Quiet American and Contempt, died on June 2 in Rome at age 88, her family announced, as per The Hollywood Reporter. The star was one of the many beauties who graced the big screen of Italian cinema during the 1950s and 1960s.

Her presence did not escape the talents scouts of the time and she was only 17 years old when she secured her first role. Moll also appeared alongside American actor Steve Reeves in The White Warrior in 1959 and The Thief of Baghdad in 1961.

Moll's most prominent role was in The Quiet American (1958), where she played Phuong, who is in the middle of a love triangle between journalist Thomas Fowler and an American named Alden Pyle. The movie is based on the 1955 novel by English author Graham Greene and was the first feature made in Vietnam.

Italian viewers will recall the actress appeared alongside Carlo Dapporto in Pasta Del Capitano sketches, with the iconic line, “With that mouth, she can say whatever she wants.”

The nightly advertisements aired at 8pm following the news.

Moll also starred in the 1963 film Contempt, where she portrayed Francesca, a secretary to American producer Jeremiah Prokosch, played by Jack Palance. The movie also starred Brigitte Bardot, Michel Piccoli and Fritz Lang.

Her other roles included also The Cossacks (1960) as well as starring with Robert Preston, Tony Randall and Walter Matthau in Island of Love (1963).

Other appearances include Lipstick (1960), Cover Girls (1963) and Dark Purpose (1964).
